    Thought for the day

    What are you doing now?

What will you be doing 5 years from now? 10 or 20 years from now?

    Will you be happy?
Will you have a great job?
Will you have your own business?
Will you be an expert in your field?
Will you have volunteered to help others?
Will you have had a lot of work experience?
Will you have traveled abroad, seen the world?
Will you be living in another country? Speaking English?
Will you be asking your children some of these same questions?

Are you working toward your goals?

    Imagine yourself at 27, 37,47, 57, 67.....

Who would you see in the mirror?
Is that the person you want to be?

  • Are you working too hard?

Are you always busy? Too busy?
    Are you overworked and underpaid?
Do you have time to relax? Relax????? What's that?Maybe you're a graduate student who is working all day and studying all weekend.

Maybe you're the head of a department, trying to squeeze even more work out of your staff.

You may be trying to finish your PhD while raising a family.

You could be a 3rd-year dentistry student who's worried about exams.

Or you might be a 5th-year engineering student working on your final project.

WHOEVER YOU ARE, YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO'S BUSY! Maybe you're just starting--a transfer student who's a bit overwhelmed.

Perhaps you're in Marketing, trying to get the posters ready on time.

Perhaps you plan events and coordinate activities.

You might be a secretary with too many bosses.

Or you could be in the legal department with meeting after meeting.

Maybe you're a dean or vice-rector with many decisions to make.

You could be in admissions, the first one students meet at the UEM.

Maybe you're one of the computer experts or a member of the technical staff?

    You could be a concierge.

Or perhaps you are on the cleaning staff or the gardening crews?

You could be working and studying and learning English too !

You might even be writing a blog, creating activities, planning conferences, teaching classes, registering students, counseling students and listening to "I have a problem" from students a dozen times a day!

EVERYBODY IS WORKING HARD. EVERYBODY IS BUSY.
And what would life be like at the UEM if we weren't

Would we still have a beautiful clean campus? Would people be smiling?

No, BAD IDEA ! NOTHING WOULD WORK! (no funcionaría nada)
There would be NO COFFEE in the morning and NO CLEAN BUILDINGS !

EVERYONE IS BUSY. EVERYONE IS WORKING HARD.YOU are definitely NOT the only one.

Just look at the cafeteria staff at 11:30 . Now THAT'S BUSY !
Look at the UEM LAB at the same time. Now THAT'S BUSY too !

WORK HARD, but DON'T FORGET TO SMELL THE FLOWERS !
